Many Inquiries

At dinner with T's mother this evening, she advised us that she was constantly fielding inquiries, and that we should send out details as soon as available, since there were some 40 or more people she knew who were eagerly awaiting news of the (yet-to-be) birth. Perhaps it is just my inward and/or inanimate focus, but I had not realized what a social event these occasions are! Anyway it is good to hear that Baby B will have so many well-wishers.

[laughing wildly (but not rudely)]

Adding another small human to the mix might be the actual original definition of 'social event.'

And the emergence of a new life aside, all us females just can't wait to latch on to another initiate into the girls-only Birthing Story Circle (with apologies to the guys in the room).

(to prove that point) Ms. 10 arrived a full two weeks after the 'due' date; a timeframe which included my own birthday. I have a painful-memory-inducing photo of my bloated self attempting unsuccessfully to smile while reaching over my bulging belly to eat my birthday dinner.

I sympathize deeply with all aspects of the wait!
