I don't suppose there is any one moment when you leave "baby" behind and really start growing up, but looking at RR now, it certainly seems she is well on her way. I don't know if it's the dress that is no longer too big for her, a different pair of shoes, the more confident walk and posture, or her increasingly engaging expressions. She is more frequently repeating words she hears us say, although not all of them have reached her permanent vocabulary yet.When she pulled a small (empty) camera bag off a cabinet and started playing with it, I said "Oooh... please put that back." To my surprise, she immediately picked it up and put it back on the shelf. I suppose my tone of voice was as clear as any specific words, but I was encouraged that she not only understood my meaning but actually followed through on my request as well.
